90s Style Western Environment Art
The inspiration for this was 90s computer-generated 3D animations. I was trying to create something that felt like it would be in a bowling animation when someone gets a strike. There's this really early era of computer animation that has this, cheap yet really iconic look, and I was really trying to recreate it here. I modeled everything seen in this image. You'd never find something like this done professionally nowadays, but I really wanted to challenge myself and see if I could match the energy of early computer animations. I think part of that aesthetic is using textures in the way I did here, where you have a single texture (for instance, the wood) that is applied to the model without a proper texture map, so some of the textures appear stretched or not applied correctly (to today's standards). I had a lot of fun making this, though.
