G-Nome Model
This guy can be found in my game G-Nome. This was my very first experience with rigging a model I created from scratch. I figured I'd start out with something I could easily wrap my head around. Obviously, the 'spine' would be inside the hat (and there'd be a lot of bones to make the hat really wobble). I had to have a nose rig (needed that jiggle when running with his 2 little feet) and a mustache rig just for some more secondary motion details. When we wanted to make a multiplayer game, I suggested we make the theme around Gnomes because 1. There are a ton of wacky ability potentials with it 2. I could voice act as a gnome, and 3. I knew it was something I could feasibly model and learn how to rig. I wanted to make him look very doughy, something that you just know will wobble around, squash, and stretch, exaggerating its movements. One of the main design goals for G-Nome was just to make a very fun, Quake-like shooter, and I think a lovable little gnome guy really sold everyone on the idea of our little whimsical experience.
